Golf Digest Schools - Old Greenwood Golf Club

Lake Tahoe, known worldwide for its vast recreation options, adds a superb golf attraction this summer - Old Greenwood (#15 shown at lower left), a Jack Nicklaus signature course, and a part of Tahoe Mountain Resorts. The spectacular layout offering ample opportunities for big drives and bigger views. The 7,500-yard course, which includes an academy with dedicated practice tees and short-game area, sits at 6,000 feet above sea level, where tee-shots travel 10 to 15 percent farther than at sea level.

Students can also play Coyote Moon Golf Course, one of the finest mountain layouts in the country. There isn't a single house to spoil the views from its 250 acres of rolling hills, majestic pines and wildflowers. A combination of Tahoe's altitude, warm sunny days, cool nights and low humidity translates into perfect weather for golf, hiking, mountain biking, boating, river rafting, fly fishing and more.
